Alternatives to coffee (caffeine)

Yo! Do you still remember my entry about caffeine. If you don't, you can find it here. To be fair, here I want to share with you some safe and effective alternatives to caffeine.

Plain water
Do I need to explain again about this?
Here. Here. Here. Here.

Fruits and Nuts
These are high in boron, a tracemineral that helps to improve mental alertness. Boron increases electrical activity in the brain and helps combat drowsiness. Boron is found in apples, pears, peaches and grapes. Also found in nuts and leafy vegetables.

Pure vegetable juice
Vegetables juices are like a blood transfusion. They are quickly absorbed so the nutrition is in your bloodstream within 15 minutes of consumption, without the time consuming and energy depleting process of digestion.

Garlic
Garlic is the natural mood elevator. Research shows it reduces fatigue, anxiety, sensitivity, agitation and irritability.

Chilli peppers
It contains capsaicin that induces in the brain a rush of endorphins (the body's feel-good-hormone) that give you a temporary high.

Exercise
This is a great way to become energetic. It gives you big boots of energy, rev you up and makes you feel good. People who exercise regularly do not need artificial stimulants because they are in touch with the stimulation of life itself.

Good Luck !

(",)y PEACE y'all

i beg to differ.
drinking coffee is not that bad..and could bring health benefits.

aku rasa GULA yg BANYAK dlm kopi tu yg bahaya (which is very common in Msia).

org german minum kopi lagi byk,2-3 cawan sehari adalah normal, aku pernah tgk pekerja pejabat minum kopi 5 cawan sehari..

sebenarnya kopi dianggap 'jahat' disebabkan ...:"Almost thirty years ago researchers at Harvard University announced a connection between coffee consumption and cancer.
A few years later they retracted the study and recognized that the findings were flawed.
However, since that first study and the media frenzy that followed, coffee has been labeled with the stigma of being unhealthy."

kopi ada byk benefits

antara yg aku igt powerful anti-oxidant,give mental alertness..

caffeine bukan ada dlm kopi saja tapi dlm TEH,KOKO (Milo??),guarana,..

just side note:org jerman minum average 77 000 cawan seumur hidupnya
http://www.denverpost.com/nationworld/ci_10595032

in my experience,semanis2 gula (maximum) dlm kopi jika dibeli di vending machine (contoh skala:5) di sini, hanya separuh manis biasa di Msia. selalunya org minum skala 2-3 ja,diorg lebih suka rasa pahit2,pekat kopi tu (1/4 manis dr kita di Msia!!)..padanlah kita selalu dpt penyakit, gula byk sgt.

so...aku xsuka kalo kopi dianggap jahat sbb kalo jahat dah lama org jerman berhenti (org jerman sangatlah health conscious!)

cheers~!

just some interesting notion:

air mineral kat sini mengandungi GAS (mcm air bergas kat Msia)...mmg rasa pelik, mcm minum gas!
aku igt benda tu sgtlah bahaya..tapi bila google xde plak kata benda tu bahaya.budak2 kecik pon minum air mineral bergas ni,gigi xrongak pon..so...maybe kita je kot xtau..

aku rasa gula dlm minuman bergas kat Msia kot yg berbahaya (rosak gigi,etc..)

bila aku tanya diorg nape ada gas..diorg pon xsure, maybe utk nampak effect buih2 tu,nampak segar, fresh, hampir semua bagi reason tuh..err..aku xpaham..

Ah, just as I was craving a coffee, how did you know?

Yes, I agree, but doing all these things isn't that easy when you are too tired-feeling to get up and exercise, that takes a lot of self-transcendence.. Something I'm not always capable of. Maybe I should jog to Starbucks? ;-)

anyway, one of my lecturer said if you drink coffee within 1 hour before or after eat, you'll disturb iron absorption in the intestine. this will increase your risk to get iron deficiency anemia.
